COLUMBUS —  Shiner defeated Mumford 9-5 and 1-0 in the regional semifinals Thursday and Friday in Columbus to advance to the regional final round.The Lady Comanches will face Burton.

Shiner track and field: Shiner boys place second at regionals

The Shiner track team is sending athletes on two relays teams and two individual events to the UIL state meet following the 2A-IV meet last weekend in Kingsville.The boys came in second with 61 points.

GOLIAD — The Shiner Comanches plated 21 runs and allowed four in a 9-1 and 12-3 sweep of Agua Dulce April 29 in the bi-district round of the playoffs in Goliad.“We put up a lot of runs today but we also had a lot of swing and misses, which is a credit to Agua Dulce’s pitchers.
