St. Paul football:St. Paul runs down TMI Panthers 47-20

The St. Paul offensive line had an encouraging performance in the season opener and built on it in the second game. The Cardinals improved to 1-1 with a 47-20 win over TMI Episcopal Friday night at Comanche Stadium.

Shiner volleyball: Lady Comanches sweep SH in road match

Shiner swept Hallettsville Sacred Heart in a road non-district game Aug. 22, 25-19, 25-10, 25-21. Aimee Mitchon had two kills, one block, one dig; Callie Sevcik produced five kills, two digs, one ace.   Charlotte Grosenbacher had four aces, one assist, one dig.

Shiner cross country: LC earn fifth at Industrial meet

The Shiner cross-country teams ran in Industrial on Saturday. The girls earned a top-five finish. Varsity Girls The Lady Comanches recorded 164 points to earn fifth place in the team standings. Hayleigh Burns was Shiner’s top finisher with No. 11 in 14 minutes, 47 seconds.

St. Paul football: Flatonia gets by Cardinals 49-26

St. Paul opened the 2023 season at Flatonia, coming up a little short 49-26. The Cardinals opened scoring in the first quarter with a 2-yard run by Nate Boedeker to take a 7-0 lead. Flatonia scored later for a 7-7 score after the end of the first quarter.

The St. Paul Lady Cardinals played a road match at San Marcos Hill Country on Thursday and played in the one-day Bellville Faith Academy Tournament on Saturday. St. Paul 3, Hill County 1 The Lady Cardinals beat San Marcos Hill Country 25-23, 19-25, 25-17, 25-21.
