Sacred Heart wins consecutive Henderson Cup

Sacred Heart received the TAPPS Henderson Cup Award for the 2023-24 year for the 2A Division. Henderson Cup is the year end All-Around award for Academic, Fine Arts, and Athletics. Sacred Heart wrapped up 61 points this year with 18 points in the Fine Arts Division (Band, Art and Academics) while 21 points in the Girl’s Athletics and 22 in the Boy’s Athletics.

Sacred Heart has received this award 11 times in the 36-year history of the Henderson Cup. TAPPS currently has 235 schools and only two schools have won the award more than Sacred Heart.

State highlights from this past year included State Runner-Up in Art, State Championship in Band, State Softball, Semifinalists in Football and Baseball along with many other individual recognitions in Track, Tennis, Golf, Swimming, and Cross-Country. Congratulations to the students, athletes, teachers and coaches for this year’s accomplishments.

The Henderson Cup is awarded by TAPPS to schools in the six classifications that scores the most points during the year in competitive arts, academic and athletic events sponsored by TAPPS. A championship cup is presented to the school for display during the year, along with a plaque to commemorate the school’s success. In honor of TAPPS 30th Anniversary, the TAPPS Executive Board chose to honor Johnnie and Evelyn Henderson for their commitment to TAPPS.
