42 Domino tourney on tap for Friday/Saturday
The annual 42 State Championship Domino Tournament will take place this Friday and Saturday, March 7 and 8 with all games played at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville.
Domino players from throughout the state will test their skills in what is considered one of the largest domino competitions in the state of Texas.
Warm-up games will be played on Friday night and the cost to register is $40 per team.
A fish fry meal will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at the KC Hall. Cost of the meal ticket is $14.
State championship tournament play starts on Saturday with the qualifying rounds played from 8:15 a.m. to noon.
In the afternoon, the championship and consolation round will take place from 1 to 9 p.m.
The finals are set to begin at 9 p.m.
Cost for playing in Saturday’s tournament is $60 per team.

Saturday’s meals include:
• Breakfast – coffee and kolaches provided by Crossroads Bank.
• Lunch: Stew, sausage, German potatoes and sauerkraut prepared by Sandy’s WINGZ and Thingz.
• Drinks and other foods as well as merchandise, such as seat cushions, cups, mugs, shirts and other items will be available throughout the day at the hall.
