    Shiner residents and their friends in other communities around the area are invited out to Police Chief Kevin Kelso, farewell and retirement party planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Shiner Police Station.

    He announced his resignation from Shiner PD in late September. Just last week the Shiner city named Wayne Denson his replacement as interim chief of the department, to give council members time to locate someone to fill Kelso's shoes on a more permanent basis.

    Hired in October 2021, his final day in Shiner takes place on Wednesday this week.
