DeWitt County grand jury presents eight felony indictments
Members of the DeWitt County grand jury handed seven felony indictments for February 2025.
Of the cases, one was marked as sealed indictments, which are typically issued whenever law enforcement has not yet served arrest warrants in an active investigation.
An indictment does not mean the person named is necessarily guilty of the crime(s) listed. It indicates the prosecutor has met the minimum evidentiary standards to bring a criminal case to trial, at which time the courts will determine the guilt or innocence of the accused.
Receiving indictments for February were:
• Xavier Diaz for controlled substance possession.
• Tabitha West for controlled substance possession and tampering with physical evidence.
• Brian Winzenried for burglary.
• Joseph Myers Jr. for controlled substance possession.
• Derrick Harper, Jr. for controlled substance possession.
• Thomas Doelle for controlled substance possession.
