Early voting continues

In-person early voting continues through Friday with voting taking place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Courthouse Annex Building.

The Annex is located at 412 N. Texana St. in Hallettsville.

What appears to be nearing a record breaking year for early voting, registered voters have had to stand in line for up to 30 minutes or more.

According to Lavaca County election administrator, Tenia Hudson, since early voting began on Monday, Oct. 21 and through this past Monday, Oct. 28, there have been 5,121 registered voters vote early. Hudson said the vote tally does not count the number of vote-by-mail ballots that have been received at her office.

The general election will take place Tuesday, Nov. 5 with all 11 county voting precincts open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
