Former Restaurant becomes site of late night drive-through

Hallettsville PD stayed busy well into the night on Friday, Jan. 5, when the driver of a late model Chevrolet pickup apparently never stopped its forward motion off the Victoria highway (U.S. 77 South), crossing all five lanes of U.S. 90 Alternate (the 500-block of West Fairwinds inside the city limits) before plowing into the dining area of the former Joe’s Fried Chicken and coming to rest with most of its hood buried in the building.
