Lavaca County Commissioners Court
The Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court met in a regular meeting Monday morning, Dec. 23 and voted to continue the burn ban for the county.
Lavaca EMS assistant chief Tim Decker reported the KBDI average for the county as of Monday is 647 with some areas having a 701 reading and others at 579.
“We did have recent rains with some receiving an inch and a half, while others getting two tenths,” Decker said. “Although there is some green grass growing, there is still a lot of dry grass sitting on top.”
Decker said after polling the four fire chiefs, they would like to have the burn ban kept in place for the county.
