Lavaca Swimming Pool hosting National Night Out Party

Those of you not hosting your own block parties as part of the 2022 National Night Out events taking place in Hallettsville on Tuesday, Oct. 4, are welcome to come join Jennifer Hagan and her crew over at Lavaca Swimming Pool from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Lavaca Swimming Pool, in collaboration with the Don Kaspar Foundation, will feature live musical entertainment by Doc Welby, donut decorating (with Kountry Bakery supplying the donuts and “Hey Sweet Thang” assisting with décor), plus, all the chili, burgers and hotdogs you’d ever want (meats by Glen’s Packing).

Anyone who wants a particular side or special brand of beverage  are asked to bring their own.

They’ll be charging $3 per person at the door—unless you happen to work in law enforcement, here or in other counties—if that’s the case, then you get in free.

This year’s observation of National Night Out is an inaugural event for Hallettsville Police Department.

National Night Out was founded in 1984 and focuses on empowering residents to build tighter and safer communities by getting to know their neighbors, and encouraging meaningful connections with your local police officers.

“We highly encourage everyone’s participation by reminding your neighbors to turn on their outside lights from 6-9 p.m., organize block parties and other such gatherings to get to know your neighbors and then be sure to register with the Hallettsville Police Department so we can swing by to have some fun and fellowship with you, too,” said Hallettsville Police Chief Randal Schlauch.

“The more people and business participate, the more amazing the opportunity for outreach and comradery,” he said. “We look forward to seeing you all Tuesday.”
