Monday morning accident in front of Hoffer’s Drive In

A two vehicle accident in front of Hoffer’s Drive In on Monday morning sent two individuals to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to a report from the Hallettsville Police Department, the accident took place around 7:55 a.m. on Monday in the 100 block of W. Fairwinds.

The report said a gray Mercury Mariner, driven by Ricky Mitchell, 67, of Hallettsville, was traveling in the westbound lane when he attempted to turn left into the Hoffer’s Drive-In parking lot and failed to yield the right-of-way colliding with a white Dodge Grand Caravan that was traveling east.

The Grand Caravan was driven by Tim Hotz, 44, of Hallettsville, who also had two minor passengers in the vehicle.

Hotz and a passenger of of the Dodge Grand Caravan reported to the officer they had injuries and were transported to Lavaca Medical Center by the Lavaca County EMS.

Both vehicles were towed away from the scene of the accident.
