Moulton ISD seeking donations for school
Moulton ISD discussed budget information at the June 21 meeting and is seeking donations from any local businesses or alumni.
“One of the things that’s included in the budget is a new marquee costing anywhere from $6,000 to $10,000,” Superintendent Renee Fairchild said. “We will probably also have to look at a new school bus, we’ve talked about it last year and we’ll probably have to go ahead and budget for it with the possibility we may need to replace a bus. We may also have some out of state travel, I’ve got some FFA leaders that are excited about potentially taking the kids to nationals in Indianapolis. We also added a theater program in one-act-play and we may need to do some lighting costing anywhere from $3,000 to $6,000.”
The school still has two months of payroll that will come out of the budget and has a couple of additional things to be purchased for normal operations.
“There are some things that our older buildings need, they need some tender loving care,” Fairchild said. “That’s one expenditure where I don’t know what the cost will be yet.”
A fan donation from the gym was also made to Sweet Home ISD.
The board also tabled a discussion on insurance for employees after they got the notification that rates for insurance will be raised by $30 a month. Moulton may be looking at different insurance options.
Moulton ISD also recognized PTO members as well as booster club members for the Bobkatz and Kittens Award of Excellence.
