November sales tax allocations issued, totaling $1.2 billion

Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he was sending cities, counties, transit systems, and special purpose taxing districts $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for November, 1.9 percent more than in November 2022.

The allocations are based on sales made in September by businesses that report tax monthly and on sales made in July, August, and September by quarterly filers.

The November 2023 allocations include:

• Cities— $751.4 million, up 1.7% compared to November 2022, and up 4.9% year-to-date.

• Transit Systems— $242.1 million, up 1.2% compared to November 2022 and up 5.1% year-to-date.

• Counties—$70.2 million, up 3.7% compared to November 2022 and up 9.7% year-to-date.

• Special Purpose Taxing Districts— $108.5 million up 4.1% compared November 2022, and up 11.3% year-to-date.

• Total— $1.2 billion, up 1.9% compared to November 2022, and up 5.8% year-to-date.
