Primary runoff elections Tuesday, May 24
All polling locations open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
This past March, the Republican and Democrat Parties held their primaries with several party nominees on the state level as well as two Lavaca County positions requiring a runoff.
Early voting has ended and voting in the primary general election is today (May 24). All 11 polling locations are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
On The Ballot locally, the race for Precinct 2 Commissioner will have Wayne Faircloth and Steven Jurena going against each other on the Republican Party ballot.
In another Republican Party county runoff, the race for Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace will have James Whited facing Steven E. Greenwell.
Due to the Democrat Party having no nominated candidates, the winner of these two county elections will be uncontested in the November general election. On the state level, both the Republican and Democrat Party will have runoffs to determine its party nominee for November.
The state positions listed on the ballot for Republican Party nominees include:
Attorney General
• George P. Bush
• Ken Paxton (incumbent)
Land Commissioner
• Dawn Buckingham
• Tim Westerly
Railroad Commissioner
• Wayne Christian (incumbent)
• Sarah Stogner
On the Democrat Party ballot nominees listed for state offices include:
Lieutenant Governor
• Michelle Beckley
• Mike Collier
Land Commissioner
• Jay Kleberg
• Sandragrace Martinez
Comptroller
• Janet T. Dudding

In addition to the elections involving state and county runoffs, the ballot will also include the names of party precinct chairpersons for county voters to decide.
