Sacred Heart Catholic School Winners in Conservation Contest

Today’s youth will be the caretakers of the world in the future. If we want them to do a better job of taking care of our environment than we did, we need to educate them on the effects their actions have on the world around them. Hallet Oaks Gallery is doing their part by sponsoring a poster conservation contest for the area youth. Materials about things we can do to promote conservation of our environment were sent to area schools for the teachers to share with their students. Discussions were held regarding protecting our water supply, replanting of trees, harmful effects of pesticides, ways of preventing soil erosion, and several other ideas the youth can do to help save our environment. The students were then given the opportunity to share their ideas by creating a poster to promote their message.
