Sacred Heart Church Spring picnic is Sunday, May 26

The annual Sacred Heart Parish Spring picnic will take place Sunday, May 26 with all activities at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville.

The traditional meal consisting of country fried chicken, stew, homemade cornbread dressing with all the trimmings will be served in the hall from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The cost of the dinner plates are $13.00.

Drive thru plates-to-go, at $13 each, will also be available from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Following a brief memorial, the auction will start at 1 p.m. at the main pavilion.

Inside the air-conditioned hall, a cake walk, country store and a religious article booth will be available as well as bingo starting at noon until 6 p.m.

Outside the hall, various booths will be available along with entertainment for the children throughout the afternoon.

In addition, a washer pitching tournament is slated to start at 5 p.m.

Also starting at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Kovanda Czech Band will p e r f o r m under the main pavilion and under the Polka/Biergarten Pavilion, Texas Sound Czech and the Red Ravens will provided the music from 1 to 7 p.m.

Delicious hamburgers, nachos, popcorn, funnel cakes, sno-cones and plenty of cold drinks will also be available throughout the afternoon.
