Sacred Heart Students Step Into a New School Year

Classes begin at Sacred Heart Catholic School on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 7:53 a.m. and will dismiss at regular times.
Cafeteria prices for the 2025-26 school year are as follows: Pre-K-4 $4.50; Grades 5-12 $5.00; milk $.50; faculty - $6.00; and adult guest - $7.00.
The Sacred Heart Catholic School faculty and staff reported on Thursday, Aug. 7 and participated in various staff development activities.
High school students will continue to enroll in several dual credit courses offered by Victoria College and will be held on the SHCHS campus through the Distance Learning Program, Advanced Placement Courses and Honor Courses will also continue to be offered, along with some additional Gifted and Talented instruction.
The Class of 2025 have 100% of its graduating class continue their formal education this fall at colleges, universities, vocational schools, or the military.
A Catholic Christian education, friendly community atmosphere, and successful graduates are hallmarks of Sacred Heart Catholic School.
Sacred Heart offers academic opportunities, leadership training and practice, daily religious education, and numerous extra-curricular activities to its students.
Students consistently score above state and national averages on comprehensive academic achievement tests, such as the Iowa Assessment, ACT Aspire, PSAT and the ACT and SAT college entrance exams.
The 2025-26 theme for Catholic Schools, designated by the National Catholic Education Association, is “CATHOLIC SCHOOLS: United in Faith and Community”. The theme encompasses several concepts that are at the heart of a Catholic Education.
Sacred Heart offers a learning environment with high academic standards while teaching students to serve one another through leadership. A well rounded Catholic education challenges students academically, spiritually, and morally to ensure the success of each student.
The school will continue the SHINE Program (Sacred Heart Individual Needs Education) for the second year. Last year’s program serviced over 30 students in various educational needs from all levels.
The services provided assistance in many areas for these students and it is SHCS’s desire to provide a Catholic environment to students with individual needs.
The inclusion program provided by SHINE will not only help children with a variety of needs but also help general education students and staff become more empathetic to students who are different from them.
Sacred Heart Catholic School welcomes and admits students of any sex, race, and national or ethnic origin that seek Christian oriented education.
The school is recognized by the Texas Education Agency as a fully accredited school for grades Pre-K-12 and is also fully accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department. It is a member of the National Catholic Education Association.
