Saguaro Country, a well-known domino playing hall, was totally lost as a result of a fire that took place Friday afternoon around 3 p.m.
According to Hallettsville Volunteer Fire Department chief, Stephen Grahmann, firefighters were called to a structure fire at 1495 CR 206 and when they arrived found the Saguaro Country building totally engulfed in flames.
Grahmann said they pulled three attack lines and started to extinguish the fire.
“We got the fire under control quickly, but it had spread throughout the entire structure,” Grahmann said.
Grahmann reported the fire started in the bar or kitchen area and was possibly an electrical fire.
The fire department was on scene for about two hours and had six units on scene.
