Shiner Band members perform at Region Clinic & Concert

    Members from the Shiner Junior High and High School Band performed with the ATSSB 18/26 All-Region bands. Students prepared material for an audition in December, and were then ranked on how well they performed the music. 
    The top junior high students were placed in the Honors Band, Symphonic Band, and then Concert Band. High school students were placed in the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and then Concert Band. 
    Each performing ensemble was given music to practice and then work together to put on a performance. Because of inclement weather, the students had to rehearse and perfect the concert music in one day. 
    The ensembles performed at the Jerry Fay Wilhelm Performing Arts Center in Bastrop on Friday, January 23. 
    “We are proud of our band members for earning a spot in one of these ensembles, and even more proud that they were able to perform great concerts off of only one day worth of practice,” said Zach Sims, band director.
    The following students were able to perform with the All-Region bands.
