Sweet Home election results

Sweet Home ISD held a special election regarding their Proposition A bond. A total of 186 votes were made for this bond with 117 (63%) voting for and 69 (32%) voting against.

The bond is $6 million and will go towards the construction, acquisition, rehabilitation, renovation, expansion, and equipment of the school building.

This includes the elementary and middle school buildings and is a property tax increase.

“We are looking at a new Pre-K through fifth grade building which will include a new cafeteria building,” SHISD Superintendent Candace Pohl said.

“We’re also looking at some renovations for our gymnasium. It will go towards a new roof and floor as well as a new HVAC system because currently our gym does not have an AC unit. We want to also asphalt the gravel parking lot and we also need a new septic system and some plumbing updates.”
