Traffic stop leads to drug arrest
A traffic stop early Monday morning resulted in the driver arrested for the possession of drugs as well as an unlawful carrying of a weapon.
According to a Hallettsville Police Department Facebook post, the a HPD officer conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of Fairwinds St. around 1:31 a.m. for a traffic infraction.
During the stop, probable cause to search the vehicle was conducted and resulted in multiple narcotics and a firearm being located.
The driver (name not released) was charged for unlawful carry of a weapon; possession of methamphetamines, cocaine and GHB, aka the Date Rape Drug.
The subject was transported to the Lavaca County jail for confinement.
