Trailer home a major loss in Wednesday night fire
Multiple area fire departments were called to a structure fire last Wednesday night which resulted in a trailer home totally destroyed from the fire.
According to a report from Hallettsville VFD chief, Stephen Grahmann, the report came in at 7:42 p.m. that a structure fire was in progress on FM 531.
Grahmann said when they arrived they found a trailer home with the east room on fire.
The department was able to extinguish the fire from the outside and made entrance into the trailer home from the side moving to the back and getting the fire under control.
The home suffered heavy fire damage in the first bedroom and attic, and heavy smoke damage in the remainder of the house.
Grahmann said the owner of the home, Jeremy Cuellar, had a heat lamp in the room, where the fire started.
The report said the heat lamp apparently caused some items in the room to ignite.
Grahmann said property and content loss was estimated to be around $30,000 including $20,000 of property damage and $10,000 in content damages.
In addition to HVFD answering the fire, the Sweet Home VFD and the Yoakum FD sent trucks to the location.
