Veterans Day programs set throughout the area
Veterans Day is Nov. 11 and with the day falling on a Saturday area schools as well as the two nursing and rehab centers in Hallettsville will be hosting events to honor the veterans on different dates.
Vysehrad School:
Vysehrad School held its annual Veterans Day program earlier this morning, (Wednesday).
During the program, each class at VISD presented patriotic programs to the veterans and their guests.
Following the ceremony, the veterans and spouses were treated to a breakfast hosted by the seventh and eighth grade students.
Nursing and Rehab Centers:
Hallettsville Nursing and Rehab Center along with the Stevens Nursing and Rehab Center will hold a Veterans Day ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 9 beginning at 10:30 a.m. The program will be held at the flagpole in front of HNRC and following the ceremony refreshments will provided.
The nursing home/rehab center invites the public to join in honoring their veteran patients, residents, community members and veteran organizations and auxiliaries.
SHCS:
Sacred Heart Catholic School will host its annual Veterans Day program at 8:05 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, with local Veterans invited to attend Mass and blessing with the SHCS students.
After Mass, refreshments, coffee and light pastries will be served.
HHS:
Hallettsville ISD will host a Veterans Day program on Friday, Nov. 10 with all veterans invited to take part in its annual Veteran’s Day Parade.
The parade will begin at 9:15 a.m. at the Hallettsville Brahma Memorial Stadium parking lot.
It will proceed on Cemetery Road and East Second Street before turning right on Ridge Street passing in front of the high school and elementary school with the school’s student body aligned along the street.
Ezzell School:
A Veterans Day program will be held at Ezzell School at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13.
The program is open to the public and snacks and coffee will be provided.
