Weak earthquake reported
A very weak earthquake was reported early Monday morning with the epicenter located between Shiner and Yoakum, east of Highway 95. According to the database.earth website, the quake took place at 9:12 p.m. Sunday evening, March 30 and was considered light in magnitude registering 1.6.
The location of the epicenter was 6.2 miles north of Yoakum and had a very shallow depth of 2.1 miles.
It was considered too small to have been felt by people, but the closest town that might have felt it would have been the residents in Shiner.
