Lavaca County Grand jury hands down 15 indictments

Members of the Lavaca County grand jury handed down 15 felony indictments after their regular monthly meeting at the courthouse on March 17. Two of the 15 cases reviewed were returned as sealed indictments, which typically occurs whenever law enforcement has not yet served arrest warrants in the cases. An indictment does not necessarily mean the person is guilty of the offense(s) listed. It does, however, indicate the prosecutor has presented jurors with enough evidence in a case they believe a trial is warranted, at which time the courts will decide the guilt or innocence of the accused.

Those receiving felony indictments include:

• Alton Eugene Brown Jr., on two counts of indecency with a child by means of exposure.

• Louis Jay Goode Jr., for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, enhanced, and another count of deadly conduct for discharging a firearm, also enhanced.

• Luis Rafael Grifaldo Jr., for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle.

• Emilio Munoz Jr., for evading arrest or detention  with a vehicle.

• Armando Salinas III, for aggravated assault with  a deadly weapon, and a second count of obstruction or retaliation.

• Reshunda Denise Thomas, for controlled substance possession.

• Perry David Vancura, for two counts of aggravated assault of a public servant, a third count of threatening a peace office, and a fourth count of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle.
