Early voting underway for Council race

Early voting started Monday
in the Shiner City Council
election.
Voters wishing to vote inperson
early can do so at the
Lavaca County Annex, located
at 412 N. Texana St. in Hallettsville
and will continue through
Tuesday, May 3.
According to Lavaca County
elections administrator Amy
Kloesel, those wishing to vote
early in person can vote this
week from 8 a.m. to 5 a.m, and
an extended time from 7 a.m.
to 7 p.m. has been added for
Monday and Tuesday, May 2
and 3.
In the City of Shiner election,
five candidates will vie
for three positions on Council.
The five candidates seeking
election are Will Franklin,
Wayne Denson, Egon Barthels,
Joey Gamez and incumbent
Louis Herman.
Also included on the ballot
are two State of Texas propositions.
The general election will
take place on Saturday, May 7
from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m with the
all county precincts open on
that day.
This election does not include
primary runoffs, which
will take
