MPD, APD Bomb Squad investigate suspicious device at Moulton ISD school

    A suspicious device was discovered on Moulton ISD school property and investigated by the Moulton Police Department and Austin Police Department Bomb Squad, according to a Lavaca County Office of Emergency Management (LCOEM) release on Thursday, May 26

    The 1:45 p.m. LCOEM statement explained that adjacent residents had been evacuated and no students were at risk because school was not in session. 

    At 2:15 p.m., LCOEM social media accounts confirmed that the bomb squad evaluated and removed the suspicious device; no other devices or suspicious activities were discovered when the school was searched. 

    “The area has been cleared and deemed safe,” stated the LCEOM update. “The Moulton Police Department would like to thank school officials, The Moulton Fire Department, Lavaca County EMS and the Austin Police Department bomb squad.”
