Majek Winery picked for Women in Texas Wine event

Lynne Majek owner of Majek Vineyard & Winery in Moravia wrote to tell us recently that she was given the honor of serving on the Women in Texas Wine panel discussion/event held Wednesday, July 20, at ReRooted Urban Winery in San Antonio.

She thanked Jennifer Beckmann—owner, sommelier and winemaker at ReRooted—both for including her in what she called the “Dream Team of Texas Wine leaders” and for serving her wines in their curated collection.

The event benefitted Dress for Success in San Antonio.

As an added note, Majek contacted the newspaper midday Monday to inform us that she will not be harvesting her grape crop this year. The intense heat this played havoc on the vines this year, she said.

Never fear, she had grapes on the way from another vineyard to stay on course with her award-winning wines over at Majek.

Just proof positive that this year's intense drought is impacting a lot more than just lawns.
