Hallettsville: Get those donuts ready!
HPD to host first-ever National Night Out events
The Hallettsville Police Department is excited to announce that they will be joining forces with thousands of communities nationwide on Tuesday, Oct. 4, in celebrating the city’s first ever National Night Out events.
National Night Out was founded in 1984, with a focus on empowering residents to build tighter and safer communities by getting to know their neighbors and encouraging meaningful connections with police officers.
“We are highly encouraging everyone’s participation by reminding your neighbors to turn on their outside lights from 6-9 p.m., organize block gatherings and register with the Hallettsville Police Department to ensure that we, the HPD, can visit and join in on some of the fun and fellowship with you, your family, friends and neighbors,” Hallettsville Police Chief Randal Schlauch said.
Businesses are also encouraged to participate and register for this amazing opportunity for community outreach and camaraderie, he said.
“Please register by Friday, Sept. 16, because we can’t wait to see you all,” the police chief said. “And don’t forget to stock up on donuts! Or kolaches work just as well.”
You can pick up a registration form at the Hallettsville Police Department, 104 E. Fourth St. in Hallettsville, (361) 798-3683, or email rschlauch@cityofhallettsville.org.
