Early voting to begin Monday, April 24

Early voting in this year’s entity elections will begin April 24 and run through Tuesday, May 2 with election day taking place on Saturday, May 6.
The City will be the only entity in Hallettsville holding an election with three candidates vying for mayor’s seat.
Candidates running for the top city position include incumbent mayor Alice Jo Summers, Gordon G. Clark and city council member Cindy Renken.
Incumbent Audrey Vaclavik Barrera is running uncontested for Place 2 on city council.
Billy Barrera is the only candidate listed for the Place 5 chair.
Voters wishing to cast their ballot early in the city election can vote Monday, April 24 through Friday, April 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lavaca County Annex located at 412 N. Texana St. in Hallettsville. Early voting will continue Monday, May 1 and Tuesday, May 2 with extended hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voting on election day, Saturday, May 6 will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Annex building.
The Hallettsville ISD has uncontested races and therefore will not hold an election.
The Lavaca Hospital District does not hold an election this year.
