Primary Runoff Election

Early in-person voting in both the Republican and Democrat Party primary runoffs ends Friday.Early voting continues to take place at the Lavaca County Courthouse Annex, 412 N. Texana St., Hallettsville with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday), Thursday and Friday.

Steffek unseats Faircloth

The Republican and Democratic Party primaries took place this past Tuesday, March 3, and resulted in challenger Pat J. Steffek unseating incumbent Wayne Faircloth for the Republican Party’s nomination for the Lavaca County Pct. 2 commissioner’s chair.Steffek collected 58.73% of the Pct.

Primary early voting ends Friday

Early in-person voting in the primary election ends Friday with the general election to take place on Tuesday, March 3.Voters who want to vote early can do so today, Wednesday, Feb. 25 as well as Thursday and Friday, Feb. 26 and 27.

Moulton Election Results

The results are in for the Moulton Independent School Board elections.For Place 1, challenger Cody Maresh had a total of 214 votes (58%) while Debra Luksovsky received 154 votes (41%). For Place 2, Jill Moore won over Robert Nieto by just 13 votes.

MISD Election this Saturday

Folks will have an opportunity to vote in the Moulton ISD school board election this Saturday.The general election will be held Saturday, May 3 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. also at the Community Center.There are currently eight people running for the school board positions.

Hallettsville mayor election Saturday

Hallettsville city voters will go to the polls Saturday to decide who will occupy the mayor’s chair for the next term.In Saturday’s election, incumbent mayor Alice Jo Summers is facing opposition from Gordon G. Clark.

Early voting has started

Early voting in this year’s Hallettsville City mayor’s election began this week.The City of Hallettsville is the only entity holding an election with a race between incumbent mayor Alice Jo Summers and challenger Gordon G. Clark.

Candidate filing has ended

The filing deadline for candidates to run for positions on the Hallettsville ISD Board of Trustees and the Hallettsville City Council ended this past Friday, Feb. 14 with each entity reporting candidates who have filed.
