Stribrnanka Brass Band here May 24

From the Czech Republic ...

The Stribrnanka Brass Band from the south Moravia region in the Czech Republic will be at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville Wednesday, May 24. 

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with an admission charge of $5 per person. The band will perform from 7 to 9 p.m.

Having a distinctive, unmistakable sound, the band is made up of professional and amateur young, energetic musicians, the band performs a wide selection of Czech and Moravian folk music, concert, solo, and dance songs.

In recent years, some of the band’s compositions have been written by themselves, including original polkas and waltzes as well as arrangements of solo compositions.

The Stribrnanka Band has a rich history and was founded  in 1970 in a small village under Buchlov a royal castle, located in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic. 

Since its formation, the band has performed on stages at festivals, dance parties, and concerts as well as many venues in the United States. 

Foreign listeners especially enjoy the orchestral compositions and the Stribrnanka Brass Band has a considerable number in their collection of songs. 

The Wednesday, May 24 event is hosted by the Czech Educational Foundation of Texas in partnership with the University of North Texas College of Music.

In addition, a sausage, sauerkraut, German potato and pinto bean meal will be available for purchase at $10 per plate.
