Sacred Heart School claims Henderson Cup

Sacred Heart Catholic Schools got word recently that they were recipients of the 2022-23 TAPPS 2A Henderson Cup, a remarkable achievement for any school because the winner is determined by how many state championships your school managed to get in a single school year, combining all possible events in athletics, academics and band to pick the overall winner.

Sacred Heart claimed this year’s Henderson Cup by winning state championship gold in football, volleyball, basketball, golf, track, band, art, tennis and baseball

That’s nine events, y’all. NINE. That’s simply amazing.

Shown here displaying their winnings are the school’s faculty sponsors and coaches who helped make those championship dreams realities this year, along with what events they are tied to: Jessica Murphy, volleyball and basketball; Pete Murphy, golf; William Hill, football, basketball and track; Jake Heck, band; Alex Seydler, athletic director; Wanda Orsak, volleyball and track; Jennifer Loudon, cross country, art and track; and, not pictured, are Kellie Haas, tennis, and Mark Noska, baseball.

Congratulations, teachers! And more importantly, congratulations to all the kids whose talents helped bring such an honor to Hallettsville. You are truly remarkable!
