Lady Brahmas move to 6-0 in district

EL MATON -The Tidehaven Tigerettes were the first team in District 25-AAA to take the the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas to seven innings in a 12-4 loss Friday.

The LB (24-2, 6-0) had 18 hits in the victory.

Kaylee Olivarez (10-1) was the winning pitcher and threw four innings. The senior right hander gave up all four runs (one earned), six hits, walked three and recorded eight strikeouts.

Grace Halata worked the final three innings and surrendered no runs, no hits, walked one and struck out four.

Hallettsville put up a five-spot in both the second and sixth innings.

The second inning saw 11 batters go to the plate and nine in the seventh inning. Hanna Zachary, Macie Jansky, Carson Jansky and Olivarez all had three hits.

Carson Jansky homered and drove in six runs in the 21-0 win over Rice Consolidated in Altair Tuesday, March 19.

Sister Macie Jansky also homered for a team leading 10th. Carson Jansky’s home run was her seventh.

Madison Mikes was the winning pitcher in the three-inning game.
