Brahmas win season opener, 11-1

Hudson Chenard gave up no hits in three innings of work in the Hallettsville Brahmas’ 11-1 season-opening victory over Shiner here Tuesday, Feb. 18. The game was halted by rain in the fourth inning.

Chenard faced the minimum of nine batters and recorded three strikeouts. He hit a batter but he was erased trying to take third base on a wild pitch. He also went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBI.

The Brahmas scored three runs on two hits, four walks and three Comanche errors in the first inning. Tanner Wagner walked with the bases loaded to force in a run. Chenard doubled to the gap in left center to score two runs for a 3-0 lead.

Two runs scored in the second, one on a double by Jorian Wilson.

Six more runs scored in the third. Brock Bludau’s double plated one run and Chenard singled to knock in another.

Preston Todd doubled and drove in the lone Comanche run in the fourth inning.

Carter Blaha doubled and Andrew George had a base hit.
