Brahmas take twin bill from Goliad
The Hallettsville Brahmas swept Goliad in a doubleheader here Monday night.
The Brahmas (3-0) took the nightcap, 8-0, after brilliant pitching by Brock Bludau and Connor Kopecky.
Bludau worked the first three innings and ceded one hit, walked two with five strikeouts.
Kopecky threw the final four innings. The junior left-hander struck out 12 of the 14 batters he faced and gave up one hit and a walk.
Hallettsville had just five hits and were the recipients of 12 bases on balls and six Tiger errors.
Jorian Wilson walked to lead off the first and scored on a fielder’s choice by Andrew George. George scored after Hudson Chenard was safe on an error.
Wilson scored on a wild pitch after drawing a walk in the second for a 3-0 lead.
Chenard led off the third inning with a base hit and came across on an infield out by Wilson.
Two runs scored in the fourth inning on a double by Chenard and a single by Austin Henrichs.
Preston Wagner scored on an infield out by George in the fifth and Carter Blaha on an error in the sixth.
