Brahmas pick up three wins

CORPUS CHRISTI - The Hallettsville Brahmas post three victories against two losses in the Calallen Tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Brahmas 3, Marion 1

The Brahmas scored two runs in the fifth inning to break a 1-1 deadlock in the victory over Marion Saturday.

Three Brahmas pitched in the contest. Brock Bludau went the first four innings and gave up two hits, one run, walked three and struck out three.

Andrew George was the winning pitcher in relief and threw two shutout innings, ceded no hits, walked four and recorded one strikeout. Konnor Kopecky got the save and worked twothirds of an inning and gave up no hits.

Hallettsville had six hits and stranded six baserunners.

George went 2 for 3, Jorian Wilson drove in a run with a double, Tanner Wagner had a RBI triple and Jake Ressler singled.

Brahmas 7, FBC 0

Hudson Chenard threw a no-hitter in the 7-0 victory over Fort Bend Crawford Friday.

Chenard (2-0) struck out 7, allowed three walks and went 2 for 4 at the plate.

The Brahmas scored one run in the first inning, four in the second and two in the sixth.

The Brahmas had nine hits.

Brock Bludau and Carter Blaha both doubled.

Jake Ressler had a single and two RBI and Andrew George singled.

Brahmas 3, SA Taft 1

Gavyn Chapa went 6.2 innings in the 3-1 win over San Antonio Taft Thursday.

Chapa gave up three hits and struck out one. The lone Taft run was unearned.

The Brahmas scored a run in the fourth inning and added two runs in the fifth.

Hudson Chenard led off the fourth with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by Carter Blaha.

In the fifth inning Preston Wagner singled and scored on an error before Jorian Wilson walked and came across on Tanner Wagner’s double.

The Brahmas took advantage of four Taft errors.

The Brahmas collected six hits. Austin Henrichs doubled, and Brock Bludau singled.

Flour Bluff 4, Brahmas 2

Jorian Wilson homered in the 4-2 loss to Corpus Christ Flour Bluff Thursday.

The Brahmas led 2-0 through three innings before the Hornets scored three runs in the top of the fourth inning.

The Brahmas were held to five hits. Wilson had two of them and Tanner Wagner, Carter Blaha, Preston Wagner and Kopecky all singled. Flour Bluff had only three hits.

Konnor Kopecky was the losing pitcher.
