Brahmas sweep Rice

The Hallettsville Brahmas swept Rice Consolidated in two District 25-AAA games last week.

The Brahmas are 15-3 overall and 6-0 in district. They hold a twogame lead over Tidehaven, Industrial and Columbus going into play this week.

Hudson Chenard (6- 0) gave up four hits in pitching a complete game in an 8-0 victory here Saturday here Saturday afternoon.

Chenard struck out 10, walked one and hit a batter.

The Brahmas scored a run in the bottom of the first inning when Brock Bludau doubled and was driven home by Jorian Wilson’s single.

Chenard stole home for a run in the fourth inning.

The Brahmas separated themselves from the Raiders with a six-run fifth inning.

The Brahmas scored on back-to-back doubles by Andrew George and Wilson. Tanner Wagner doubled in a run, Weston Loudon was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in another. Austin Henrichs singled for two more runs.

The Brahmas collected 13 hits with Bludau going 3-for-4. Carter Blaha, Wilson and Henrichs also had a multi-hit game.

Konnor Kopecky and Jorian Wilson combine to hold the Raiders to three hits in the game played at Altair Tuesday, March 25.

Kopecky, (2-1) worked five innings and ceded three hits, walked one and struck out four.

Wilson had one strikeout in the frame he worked.

The Brahmas had a 2-0 lead prior to scoring five runs in the fifth inning and three in the sixth.

Hallettsville had 10 hits and stranded seven baserunners.

Andrew George, Brock Bludau and Weston Loudon had two hits apiece.
