Montgomery wins state column writing award

Murray Montgomery captured first place in Column Writing in an annual contest sponsored by the Texas Press Association.
Competing against journalists from similarly sized newspapers across Texas, Montgomery was recognized for a collection of columns published throughout 2025 that showcased his passion for local history and storytelling.
