Bennie Novosad

Bennie Novosad, 94, of Shiner, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
Visitation was held from 4-5 p.m. with rosary recited at 5 p.m. Sunday, October 23 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, October 24 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bryan Heyer officiating.
Burial followed at Shiner Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home, Yoakum.
Pallbearers were Ryan Novosad, Dilan Novosad, Jeff Steckler, Jay Watkins, Nathan Pilat, Justin Novosad, Jared Novosad, and Denton Meiske.
He was born August 23, 1928 in Shiner, to Joseph and Mary Pekar Novosad. He worked at the Spoetzl Brewery and was a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.
Survivors: include two daughters, Claudette Demel (Darrell) of Hallettsville and Bernadette Siegel of Shiner; three sons, Bruno Novosad (Connie) of Victoria, Marvin Novosad (Gwen) of Rockport and James Novosad (Becky) of Victoria; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Annette Novosad of Shiner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Kutac Novosad; his parents; son-in-law, Donnie Siegel; and 10 siblings.
Memorial contributions may be given to Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner or Shiner Catholic Schools.
