Bonnye Raye Kersh
Bonnye Raye Kersh passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023 in Brazoria.
Bonnye was born Feb. 21, 1941 in Corpus Christi to Grady and Margie Whitley.
Bonnie graduated from Hallettsville High School in 1958.
She then attended Durham Business College in Victoria.
On Dec. 19, 1959 she married Dean Kersh at The First United Methodist Church in Hallettsville.
Bonnye and Dean moved to Houston and she worked as a secretary for RD McDonald in downtown Houston.
In 1967 they became permanent residents in Brazoria where Bonnye and Dean operated small hamburger and shake shop, later known as Dean-O’s along with many other businesses over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Dean, and her three children, Kathy Kersh of Brazoria, Kim Graf and husband, Phillip of Vernon and Kendra Aucion and husband, Wade of Brazoria. She is the loving Gran to Valerie and husband, Matt Gamman, Kendall and wife, Christen Kersh, Lance Graf, Kelsey Graf, Maci Aucion and Tori Aucion, along with five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Peggy Whitley of Clear Lake and Maye and Mel Moncrief of Austin.
Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Thursday, Oct. 5 from 5-7 p.m. at C.T. Baker Funeral Home, 634 S. Columbia Drive, West Columbia, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct, 6 at the funeral home with Joshua Bynum officiating.
Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Geiger Cemetery in Sublime.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First United Methodist in Brazoria.
