Claudia Vancura
Claudia Beal Vancura, 73, of Shiner, passed away on May 19, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time she passed.
Claudia was born on July 21, 1949, in Shiner, to Lawrence “Speedy” and Joyce Stock Beal. She was the oldest of five children. Claudia was a graduate of St. Paul High School and attended Austin Business School. Claudia married her childhood friend, Ronnie Vancura on February 28, 1970. Together they had six children that they raised in Shiner.
Claudia worked many years as a teacher/coach at St. Ludmila here in Shiner. After that, she worked at Circle Y Saddles from where she retired. Claudia would spend her free time working crossword puzzles, watching Lifetime movies, vacationing at the beach, the gift giving of dimes, planting flowers, and gardening. Claudia was well known for her pickles. A jar of pickles from Claudia was a prized possession. But, most of all, Claudia’s life revolved around her family. She enjoyed sitting outside visiting with her children and grandchildren.
