Donna Gail Appelt Coldewey
Donna Gail Appelt Coldewey was born Aug. 4, 1947 in Hallettsville, to Edgar and Millie (Elstner) Appelt.
She was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville.
Donna was a very talented person and love to quilt, knit, and paint. She always had many projects going.
She was a member of Texas Extension Education Association and Sacred Heart Quilting Ladies.
She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother.
After a long struggle with lung disease, she was taken home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 5, 2022.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Coldewey; her sons, John Coldewey (Liza); Kurt Coldewey (Rachel), and Tim Coldewey and Tim Teague (Nina); grandsons, Zachary, Tucker, Ryder, Phoenix and Locklin; sister, Nettie Cullen; brother, Poochie Appelt (Clemmie); sisters-in-law, Linda Moore (Rex) and Delores Huffmaster; cousins, Kay Arnold and Beverly Fuchs, plus many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, 11134 FM 957 in Moravia on Wednesday, Jan. 11. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
A luncheon will be served at the parish hall across the street from the church after the service.
A private burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Yoakum at a later date.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of South Texas, 605 Locust Ave. in Victoria, Texas 77901, or a charity of donor’s choice.
