Dorothy Marie Janak Nixon
Dorothy Marie Janak Nixon, 85, of El Campo, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023.
She was born on May 26, 1938 in Hallettsville to Laddie and Josephine Kalmus Janak. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Dottie, as she was known by all who knew her, was a nurse for over 30 years for Dr. Ronald Goelzer. She was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters.
Dottie is survived by her daughters, Diane Mozisek (Mark) of El Campo, and Gwynne Henderson (Jack) of Dallas; son, Ryan Orsak (Pamela) of Victoria; step-daughter, Shannon Lederer (Ralph) of Alabama; sisters, JoAnn Kristek (Wilbert) of Hallettsville and Bunnye Uehlinger of Hallettsville; brother, Dennis Janak (Barbara) of Hallettsville; grandchildren, Taylor Mozisek (Lauren), Payton Orsak and Landon Orsak, Samantha Lederer; great-grandchildren, Hudson Mozisek and Rhett Mozisek and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Ray C. "Sonny" Nixon, preceded her in death on April 20, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jean Pekar, and brothers-in-law, Marvin Pekar and Walt Uehlinger.
Visitation will began at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3 at St. Philip Catholic Church. Rosary by the CDA will be recited at 9:30 a.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Samuel Owusu officiating.
Graveside services will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hallettsville.
Pallbearers will be Jason Pekar, Randy Kristek, Kyle Uehlinger, Monty Janak, Marty Janak and Darryl Orsak.
