Ella M. Berger

Ella Marie Berger, 85, of Shiner, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
A rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, September 8 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, September 9 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bryan Heyer officiating.
Burial followed at Shiner Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Thiele- Cooper Funeral Home, Yoakum.
Pallbearers were Kevin Berger, Justin Moller, Bradley Berger, Derrick Berger, Craig Kneifel, Jeremy Kneifel and Daniel Torres.
She was born January 7, 1937 in Hallettsville, to Paul and Mathilda Zikhur Kremling.
She worked at Kaspar Wire Works. She graduated from Baldwin Business College. She was a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and Altar Society. She enjoyed playing bingo with the Senior Citizens, dominos, baking kolaches & bread, gardening, canning vegetables & fruit and her cattle.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Berger and Carol Kneifel (Michael); two sons, Denis Berger, Jr. (Lori) and Allan Berger (Debi); seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Denis Berger Sr. (passed away March 18, 1986); her parents; and brother, Henry Kremling.
Memorial contributions may be given to Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church or donor’s choice.
The family would like to thank Msgr. John Peters and Rev. Bryan Heyer for visiting their mother in the nursing home. Family also wants to thank Hallettsville Nursing & Rehab Center, Hospice of South Texas and the doctors for their care given to Mrs. Berger.
