Evelyn Kresta

Evelyn Kresta, 90, of Hallettsville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024.  

She was born in Lavaca County on April 14, 1933, to Matus F. and Victoria Mladenka Cada
She grew up in Moravia, La Grange, and El Campo.

On Oct. 3, 1949, she married Victor E. Kresta in Moravia.

Evelyn is survived by two daughters; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her neighbors of the Charlottenburg Community, who visited her regularly and showed her such love.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband; Victor; her parents; daughter, Patricia Anderson; son-in-law, Bob Anderson, and grandson, J.J. Pohl.

Visitation began at 9 a.m. Rosary was recited at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at Mary’s Catholic Church, Hallettsville. 

Celebration of the Funeral Mass followed at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at St. Mary’s Church. Msgr. John Peters officiated. 

Burial followed at St. John the Catholic Church in Koerth.   

 Pallbearers were Cody Starkey, James Orsak, Randy Pohl, Ben Kresta, A.J. Pohl and Floyd Jaster III.  

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hospice of South Texas or a charity of donor’s choice.
