Freddie Zbranek

Frederick James “Freddie” Zbranek, 77, of Shiner, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022.
Private family funeral services will be held at a later date.
Services are under the care and direction of Shiner Funeral Home.
He was born on April 15, 1945, in Gonzales County, to Laddie Sr. and Henrietta Valenta Zbranek. He married Alice Louise Grossman on June 11, 1969, in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner.
Though Freddie was born in Gonzales County he was pretty much raised in the Shiner area. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army coming home from duty to work with his brother and father in the carpentry business. Together they built and remodeled homes in the Shiner area. Freddie later went to work for Migl Feed and Grain in Hallettsville driving trucks, a career he enjoyed for over twenty years.
Freddie enjoyed watching old westerns on his television and then driving to Yoakum with his wife to meet up with friends at the Dairy Queen before supper. He delighted in spending family time with his grandchildren who lovingly called him Popo.
Survivors include his adoring family; wife, Alice Zbranek; daughter, Laura Jean Zbranek; son, James Joseph Zbranek, all of Shiner; sister, Linda Rothbauer of Yoakum; and grandchildren, Joshua Andrew Joseph Zbranek and Miranda Lynn Nerada.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Danielle and Amanda Zbranek; his parents; sisters, Sidonia Tousek and Connie Zbranek; and brother, Laddie Zbranek, Jr.
