Homer Charles Bade Jr.

Homer Charles Bade Jr., 90, of Cuero, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023.  
He was born on December 9, 1932 in San Antonio, to Homer and Hertha Windmeyer Bade. He married Lila Eunice Frieda on February 7, 1954 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sublime.  Homer worked as a carpenter for the better part of twenty-five years.  He enjoyed playing the steel guitar with the Southernaires, Homer & Gene, the Westerners, Ed Junot the Fiddlin Cajun.
Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Lila Bade; three daughters, Yvonne Riske (Donnie) of Seguin, Karen Shimek (Nick) of Shiner and Sandra Buck (Jim) of Dripping Springs; one sister, Mary Ann Kosub of Rockport; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 20 at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero.  
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rex Bennetsen officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Freund Funeral Home, Cuero.
