Jane “Janie” Grant Eilers
Jane “Janie” Grant Eilers of Round Rock, peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior on
Tuesday Dec. 13, 2022. She was lovingly surrounded by her adoring family.
Janie was born on Nov. 4, 1945 in Boston, Mass. to Dee and Terry Grant.
At the age of six months, her family moved to Texas. She was the oldest of three children.
In 1963, she graduated as Salutatorian from Luling High School. As a teenager, Janie was
strikingly beautiful and she reigned as Miss Luling and held many other beauty queen titles. She
attended Southwest Texas State University for two years where she majored in Mathematics and
met her former husband, Bill.
When she left college, she worked two years, establishing the first Gary Job Corp program in
San Marcos. From there, she moved to Houston and worked at Bank Of the Southwest.
Janie married Bill Eilers in 1967. They welcomed their first son, William “Trey” August Eilers, III
in 1969; their beautiful daughter, Tiffany Joy in 1972, followed by their third child, Michael, born in
1979.
In 1974, they opened Eilers Pharmacy in Hallettsville. Janie was an office manager and
pharmacy technician. In 1990, she enrolled at University of Houston in Victoria, to complete her
CPA degree.
In 2010, she moved to Park Valley Inn Healthcare in Round Rock, to be closer to her children
and receive the care she needed. She was a very social resident and enjoyed playing bingo and
listening to her favorite entertainers play for the residents. Janie’s utmost pride came from being
a mother and grandmother. She loved her children, grandchildren and family beyond measure.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Park Valley Inn and Magnolia Hospice for
the kind and loving care that Janie received.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a charitable donation to Janie’s favorite charity, St. Jude
Children’s Hospital.
