John “Johnny” David Phillips Sr.

John “Johnny” David Phillips Sr., 81, of Shiner, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023.
He was born on November 13, 1942 in Texas City, to David and Gloria Kilsby Phillips.
He was a elevator mechanic. He enjoyed sitting by the campfire, hunting and fishing. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Berger Phillips; daughter, Darlene Duke “Dee Dee”; sons, John David Phillips Jr. (Valorie) and Jim Edwin Phillips (Christine); grandchildren, Robert Duke Jr, Abigail Duke, Jadie Howard, John D. Phillips, III and Dana Phillips; and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette Clark and Diane Bosarge; brothers, Michael Phillips and Robert Phillips.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 16 at Husky Pasture Event Center, 25062 SH 159, Hempstead, Texas 77445.
